Just passed Ed Dunlop's string walking alongside the road in Newmarket after cantering up Warren Hill and there seems to be a 'spring in the step' of the horses and their riders after the victory of Snow Fairy in Hong Kong on Sunday.

It was an amazing feat by the three year old filly to come from last to first under an incredible ride from Ryan Moore to win the first prize of 900,000 which took her career earnings to over 2,000,000!

That's not bad when you consider nobody wanted her when she went through the Sales Ring as a yearling and was 'bought in' for 1,500!!!!!

Ed Dunlop deserves the highest praise for his handling of the filly who is following in the hoofprints of her former stable companion Ouija Board and he said she might aim her now at the Dubai World Cup, the world's richest race, he told me when i called him on his mobile shortly after returned from Hong Kong.

By the way last year's Oaks winner Sariska is about to be mated to Galileo the leading stallion and that could be something to watch out for in a few year's time.

Well done as well to the Godolphin 'Boys in Blue' who enjoyed their Xmas party even more after Mastery and Frankie Dettori had also won in Hong Kong and this gave them their 200th winner of 2010.

I'm praying that the weather allows us to race at Ascot this weekend.

I had hoped 'the ice age' had gone but it seems on the way back and that would be a shame because I've got a horse who i believe will win the 150,000 Ladbroke Hurdle.

This is the richest handicap hurdle in Europe and therefore is always one of the most competetive but this horse-whom i tried to buy for a client a few weeks ago-looks 'banker' material!

I believe he could win next year's Cesarawitch but i thought the 50,000 asking price was too high.

However the trainer did say he could well win the Ladbroke so he could well have been a good investment.

This Nick Gifford trained 8 year old stayed on really well to finish second to the classy Medermit (tommo's best bet ) at Plumpton on monday and looks destined to go on to better things! The step up in trip to two and a half miles will be right up his street and when he does we'll be on!!!

Aviador who is trained here at Newmarket by Lucy Wadham - a lady who used to produce the BBC's Breakfast Time Show - looks one to follow after finishing 5th in the 2 mile 5 furlong novice hurdle at Plumpton.

A drop back to 2 miles for his next run which will probably be in a handicap will suit him down to the ground and he is another for the Xmas Money.
