DUBAI WORLD CUP INVESTMENT!

Mike de Kock is probably the 'Greatest International Trainer in the World' and after an incredible 4 timer in Dubai last week he's now chasing the richest prize in horseracing the !0,000,000$ Dubai World Cup!

BOLD SILVANO is the horse, a South African bred just like his trainer, and after romping away in what looked a very hot race at Meydan last week it's all systems go for the World Cup on Saturday 26th March!

I had a good chat with Mike, who incidentally is a scratch player at golf, on his mobile in Dubai yesterday and he left me in no doubt that he thinks this horse can go all the way.

OK there's no denying it's going to be a very very hot race but the 5-1 available about the horse at the moment looks superb value and an investment is advised!

Incidentally Henry Cecil is shipping two horses out next week to Dubai and i hope to pop over to Warren Place and see them before they go!

By the way MAHBOOBA whom i also spotlighted on this page two months duly won the 1,000 guineas and is now on course for the Derby where she'll take on the boys and probably beat them!

By the way De Kock saddles plenty of runners tomorrow night and seemed particularly keen on GOLDEN SWORD and MUSIR!

However although the great South African should have at least a couple of winners tomorrow night in Dubai I believe there is a banker bet at the track!

This horse was so unlucky last time that with a clear run tomorrow he MUST WIN!

Also with the Cheltenham Festival now less than 5 weeks away now is the time to JOIN UP!

By the way I was talking to that very good jockey Darryl Jacob yesterday and he can't wait to get the leg up on the Hennessy winner DIAMOND HARRY in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

I had a good chat with him yesterday en route to Market Rasen and he left me in no doubt he wouldn't swap his mount for anything in Steeplechasing's Blue Riband event on March 18th!

He's also quietly looking forward to riding CORNAS in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury on Saturday although he acknowledges the odds on favourite Woolcombe Folly is going to be a tough nut to crack.

However Cornas is on course for the Queen Mother Champion Chase sponsored for the first time by Sportingbet.com and if he's going to be a contender in that he will want to be running well on Saturday!

Am off to Taunton to commentate on Thursday so if you are there come and say hello!

Taunton is one of those lovely country tracks that make our national hunt racing so special and as it's just down the road from the stables of Nichols, Pipe, Hobbs etc it's always a good place to catch up!

Was supposed to be there last week but did a swap with fellow commentator Richard Hoiles whose wife is expecting another baby and it's due this week!

It means he's on hand if anything dramatic should happen!!!
