Its Cheltenham this weekend and Paul Nicholls whos neverwon the 150,000 Paddy Power Gold Cup, can put things right with the help ofMON PARRAIN( 2.35 Channel 4 Saturday).

Mon Parrain hasnt run this season but that doesnt worry mefor this horse has done plenty of work on the famous uphill gallop next toNicholls stable which I call the north face of the Eiger!

Believe me this horse is fit and he showed he goes well whenfresh when winning first time out at Sandown last year by an amazing 22lengths!

The Champion Trainer has already hit the ground running thisseason and last Saturday sent out a magnificent 7 winners that took him pastthe 2000 career winner mark!

He looks a solid favourite but having said that there are acouple of long shots that I believe offer extra special value.

NOBLE ALAN at around 20-1 is a horse that appeals and herepresents Penrith trainer Nicky Richards and jockey Dougie Costello. Hecarries the orange and yellow checks of owner Craig Bennett who made his moneyin mobile telephones!

Noble Alan is a high class horse and he could well have wonlast time out if he hadnt unseated his rider at the second last fence atMarket Rasen.

FINE PARCHMENT at around 33-1 looks the best outsider andafter running so well when beaten in a photo finish at Aintree on his seasonaldebut will now be spot on!

It looks a great race but I firmly believe Mon Parrain andRuby Walsh are the win bet, Noble Alan is great each way and Fine Parchment isthe best outsider.

The lightly weighted Time for Spring won well last time out and will have the services ofCheltenham Gold Cup winning jockey Sam Waley Cohen in the opening race onFriday the Irish Time Amateur Riders handicap chase.

Its going to be a busy weekend for me for apart fromrushing round to all these racemeetings Im also going to try and get to watchmy son James who wears the number 15 shirt for Edinburgh in their Heinecken CupMatch at London Irish on Saturday.

London Irish are currently lying in second place in thepremiership so they are going to be very tough but Edinburgh had a great winagainst Treviso in Italy last weekend and travel south with plenty ofconfidence!

James-or Jim as they call him is on the verge of theScotland 6 Nations Team and a few good performances from this most gifted youngplayer could get him the nod for the 15 shirt that Chris Patterson has wornwith distinction for so many years.

This weekend sees the start of the Tote 10 to Followcompetition and these are my 10 that hopefully will win you a lot of money inthe months ahead!
